Good Lord. This dish is ah-mazing. It reminds me of going to little diners as a kid and ordering the apple pie. For some reason nothing tasted better than diner apple pie. These skillet apple dumplings are now king of the castle, bumping that diner apple pie right off its pedestal.
It’s been raining for days here in Northern California. Days and days. While there are plenty of practical things I could be doing, the rain always makes me want to bake! The tastiest angel food cake came from this past week’s weather.
Parenting hit me hard today. The laundry literally looks like it could eat me due to its sheer volume. The living room floor has crackers ground into it. My children seem to have forgotten entirely how to hear me. I can’t even focus on what dinner will be tonight. Enter vanilla pudding.

Did your elf on the shelf idea turn into the elf falling into the toilet while trying to strategically place him pooping out peppermints? And no, that’s not my idea. I can’t take credit for thatContinue reading
I’m convinced real food should taste good. Life should go on as if nothing is different. Parties, family vacations, school lunches should be normal things we can still enjoy. Gingerbread cookies are the essence of holidays. Just last week I was explaining to my son what holiday is next an why we can’t have Halloween again instead of Thanksgiving- he had an excellent point though. Once I told him Thanksgiving meant we could bake some goodies he ran to my cookie cutter drawer, yesContinue reading
